We help with roof insurance claims by inspecting the damage, photographing and measuring it, and giving you a written repair price you can send to your insurance company. We explain what adjusters usually look for and can meet the adjuster on the roof. We never pay or waive your deductible, and the claim stays between you and your insurer.
Most roof claims in Pine Bluff come after hail or wind. Jefferson County has logged 80 hail reports and 122 damaging wind reports since 2005 (NOAA). Whether your claim goes smoothly often comes down to one thing: clear proof that the damage came from a storm, not from age.
What insurance usually covers, and what it does not
| Usually covered | Usually not covered |
|---|---|
| Hail damage to shingles, vents and gutters | Wear and tear from age |
| Wind that tears off or creases shingles | Leaks from poor installation |
| A tree or limb falling on the roof in a storm | Slow leaks and rot over months |
| Interior damage from a sudden storm leak | Damage made worse by not covering an open roof |
Every policy is different. Read yours or ask your agent. Many Arkansas policies have a separate wind and hail deductible.

Step by step: filing a roof claim
- Stop more damage: cover open areas or call for an emergency tarp. Keep receipts.
- Photograph the roof, the yard, gutters, vents and every stain inside, before anything is moved.
- Check your policy for your deductible and your deadline to report.
- Call your insurer or agent to open the claim and get a claim number.
- Get a roof inspection and written price.
- Meet the adjuster, or have us there.
- Review the insurer’s estimate against the written price. Ask questions about anything missing.
Text Jacob photos of the damage. We document it for your insurer and give you a written price.
Your rights under Arkansas law
Arkansas gives homeowners a specific protection on insurance repair contracts. Under Arkansas Code 4-88-903 and 4-88-904, a contractor who signs a repair contract that will be paid by insurance must give you a written notice of your right to cancel. You can cancel within three business days after your insurer tells you in writing that all or part of the claim is not covered. The contractor cannot start work until that window has passed, and must refund payments within ten days if you cancel, except for emergency work like tarping.
About deductibles
You pay your deductible. We never pay it, waive it or hide it in the price. A roofer who offers to is usually billing your insurer more than the real cost, which can be treated as insurance fraud and can put your whole claim at risk. See can a roofer pay or waive my deductible.
What we do not do
We are not public adjusters and do not negotiate your claim for you or take a cut of the payout. We document the damage, price the repair honestly, and do the work. If your claim is denied and you think it should not have been, see what to do if the adjuster denies your roof claim.
Photos that make a claim stronger
- A wide shot of each side of the house, then close-ups of damage on that side
- Hail next to a coin or ruler, taken right after the storm
- Dents in gutters, downspouts, vents, car hoods and mailboxes, which show hail size
- Shingle pieces in the yard, before you pick them up
- Every stain inside, with a pencil line marking its edge and the date
- The weather report or NOAA storm report for your area that day
Keep every photo and receipt in one folder on your phone. Adjusters work from evidence, and a clear record answers most of their questions before they ask.
Roof insurance claim FAQ
Should I call my insurance company or a roofer first?
Stop the water and take photos first. Then you can do either. A roofer’s inspection helps you know whether the damage is worth a claim before you file.
Will filing a claim raise my rates?
Weather claims are often treated differently from other claims, but it depends on your insurer. Ask your agent before filing if you are unsure.
How long do I have to file a roof claim?
It depends on your policy. Many set a deadline after the storm date. Report damage as soon as you can.
Can you meet the adjuster?
Yes. We can meet the adjuster on the roof and point out the damage we documented.
What if the damage is less than my deductible?
Then a claim does not help you. We will tell you the repair price so you can decide.
